"AMAZIGH"

Photographic reportage a journey through the soul of the Berber nomads
The men of Morocco's yellow desert reportage

A photographic project born from my various travels to Morocco, a wonderful land steeped in history, culture, and tradition. Its ancient Berber ethnic group has shaped a significant part of North Africa's Maghreb lifestyle.

The Berbers of Morocco, a nomadic people living on the edge of the sandy desert, like to call themselves "Amazigh," which in the Berber language means "Free Men" due to their independent and solitary lifestyle.

A lifestyle based on constant movement based on weather conditions and the presence of water, the desert Berbers are known for their warmth and welcoming attitude toward strangers, demonstrated by invitations to their tents (their home) to enjoy Berber mint tea while recounting ancient tales.

In this photographic project, I wanted to capture the lifestyle of the nomadic families still remaining today, who have preferred to carry on their customs and traditions of independence, choosing to live in solitude, albeit difficult, far from modern influences.
